Young man I know you're hurting bad So go and ask your dad if we can go have a chat Because I think you need to hear this young man Young man I know you need a hug I got so much to tell you but I don't know where to start I'll try my best to keep this kinda short Yeah Young Man You're nine years old, I know you're really stressed You're still a kid, just know it's okay if you feel upset You hate your teeth, you hate your shape Yeah that much is true But what you see as faults are the things that will define you People teasing you at school, it's tearing you apart They only do it cause they're jealous of your tender heart Never forget the person that you are There's a few times you'll lose your way but I will guide you through the dark I know that light is hard to find in those dark times You'd think it wouldn't be but took me years to realize The negatives manifest the more you think about it That's why I'm here, want you to live a happy life without it You deserve the very best in life, don't ever doubt it You're stronger than you know, don't ever think that you're a coward You'll find your strength eventually but let me tell ya It's gonna take a lot of stress before you're feeling better You think you've got it bad now well me take you forward In time so you can realize there's pain around the corner You'll meet a girl, fall in love and you'll start to wonder "Is she the one?" Try your luck, then you become lovers Proceed with caution, years will pass and you'll both leave each other This one is difficult and takes years to recover You'll graduate, but won't be super happy with your marks Apart from music, cause you've always given it your heart You'll feel lost in life and take some time to knuckle down On making music but it doesn't get you off the ground I know the instinct is to quit when you're not feeling proud But chip away day by day and you will find your sound There's more I need to tell you, I don't wanna see you fall Not tryna scare you, I'm just trying to help you mature I know the world can be a dangerous place But listen to the words I say, I promise you'll be safe You'll look around for work and get a job in retail You'll slowly realize that money doesn't entail Feeling valuable, I learnt that the hard way But you need to listen carefully to what I'm bout to say You'll trust in love again and think you found your soul mate But she'll just take heart and beat it down until it breaks This is the lowest that you'll ever get and one night You'll make a rash decision and you'll nearly end your life You scare yourself so much you start to question who you are All the trauma that you're feeling's gonna leave a scar You need this though because another journey's 'bout to start From all the pain and suffering inflicted on your heart You'll focus all your energy on making music now So you can pick yourself up when you're feeling down And then you'll learn people relate to what you've been through So you decide a full project's what you want to do September 6 is first up, it hasn't aged well But that's the stepping stone that got yourself out of hell Your career starts here, it's only going up You'll make a lot of new friends doing what you love Twenty nineteen you'll take your time to craft your first album Your family tells you that it's great, but you start to doubt 'em You get anxious that your fans won't like the pop direction You're 'bout to find out right now, tell me what ya reckon?
