The Living End Essentials
Playlist - 16 Songs
They started out as a Melbourne covers band called The Runaway Boys, playing songs by the Stray Cats and The Clash. When they became The Living End in 1994, their own songs would combine rockabilly and punk rock, with singer Chris Cheney howling and tearing off licks on his big-bodied electric guitars, while Scott Owen used his double bass as both an instrument and a piece of gymnastic equipment. Early songs “Prisoner of Society” and “Second Solution” cemented their rockabilly rebel-meets-'90s-punk credentials, but over the years they expanded into other areas of the rock universe.
