About Well Grounded
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I’ve loved reggae music since I was three, when I heard UB40’s ‘Rat in Mi Kitchen’ on the radio. When I told my mom about it, she thought there was literally a rat in our kitchen. She figured out what I meant and got me my first album (thanks, Mum!).
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Marley & The Wailers, Survival (2013 Remaster) Bonus Track Version Mortimer, Fight the Fight – EP UB40, Labour of Love II These aren't necessarily my top 3 all-time, but each of these albums has deepened my love of reggae and influenced the kind of music I want to create.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Under a different alias, opening for Pato Banton was one of the high points of my career. Getting to watch him from afterwards was like being at church. There are also a bunch of small, sweaty gig with that special energy that I'll never forget.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd love to get to perform live again. I needed a break, and it has been fun getting back to writing and releasing music, but there's something special about connecting directly with your listeners.
