About Timmy Wells
Artist Biography
Timmy Wells began sprouting ideas for the songs featured on Kids! We Are the Future when a fellow teacher, who works with kindergarten-aged children in Louisiana's Orleans Parish, needed something to help her students with spelling. Not long after, Wells had crafted tunes like "Twelve Months a Year" and "Spell the Numbers" for kids up to the fifth grade. Wells, whose real name is Timothy Weller, has devoted almost 20 years to his work as a teacher of music and voice. He also spends time in a Louisiana group named Moe Betta and runs KiddieCorp Music, a company that focuses on educational music. He has appeared with the Coasters, Andy Gibb, and Bill Haley's Comets, among others. He received a master's degree in chorale conducting from the University of New Orleans in 1985. ~ Linda Seida
