About The Port Huron Statement
Artist Biography
The Port Huron Statement is a collaboration between two unique individuals.
First is Chip Taylor, a former Sticky member that writes quirky garage rock that deals with lofty subjects such as national loyalty and the destiny of lovers.
The other is Todd Henderson, another multi-instrumentalist that fosters the lunatic vision of Taylor with their partnership.
Together they began recording in 1997, making mostly home-recorded ditties that reflected their love of simple garage rock.
A self-released album mostly made of Taylor's material (Home Recordings 1997-1999) introduced them to a national audience, but it wasn't until 2002's Tory that the band truly released an effort that reflected both of their efforts. ~ Bradley Torreano
