About The Pontiac Brothers
Artist Biography
Calling the Pontiac Brothers the poor man's Replacements might not tell the whole story of this L.A. booze rock act, but it's not exactly inaccurate, either. Formed by Ward Dotoson after his departure from the legendary Gun Club, the Pontiac Brothers played drunken, spirited, heart-on-sleeve rock with just enough pop smarts and instrumental competence to get through five full-length albums. Heavy on Stones-ey swagger and '60s hooks, the Pontiac Brothers were the '80s indie underground's true lovable losers. Dotoson went on to form the Liquor Giants after the band's early '90s break-up.
