Artist Biography
The Last Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz & Percussion Ensemble first appeared in 2007 on enigmatic and prolific producer Madlib's label as Yesterdays New Quintet, with their landmark album Yesterdays Universe. The album featured Madlib producing a new, forward melange of music under the guise of a collection of new groups all created by Madlib. The Last Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz & Percussion Ensemble's particular sound features groove-heavy songs, which often quickly branch off into codas. In 2010, the Ensemble released Miles Away, an album of songs each dedicated to various jazz greats including Horace Tapscott and organist Larry Young. ~ Vincent Thomas
