Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember thumbing through my dad's record collection when I was a child and finding Tomita's "Snowflakes Are Dancing" album. I played it and my entire brain was re-wired: it was the first time I heard synths and the first time I heard Debussy.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Isao Tomita, Snowflakes Are Dancing Virtuoso Electronic Performances of Debussy's Beautiful Tone Paintings Lewis Taylor, Lewis Taylor Stevie Wonder, Talking Book (Reissue) "Talking Book" is the first Stevie record I ever heard and that made me want to write lyrics, "Snowflakes Are Dancing" is the first synth (and Debussy) record I ever heard and that got me into synths, and "Lewis Taylor" is just a perfect soul record.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “All Over My Body” This is the first "vocal" song I ever did (I know it only has a few words but I didn't have a lot of RAM in my sampler!) and it launched my whole career.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? As you'd expect: when Donae'o transformed "We Belong To The Night" into "Party Hard"...that's about as big as it gets for a deep house producer!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? One day I hope to be able to round up all the singers I've worked with over the years and all the session players, and we all come to South Africa and perform all my songs live.
