About Ramon Rivas II
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember my parents buying me DOOKIE on CD and me thinking it was a very funny name. I listened to it on a portable CD player that constantly skipped.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Charles Mingus, The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady Chris Crack, Being Woke Ain't Fun J Dilla, Donuts DONUTS reminds me of good jazz, in that there's a whole emotional arch taking place thru the project. Chris Crack has a lot of albums but I listened to this one a lot when I did the Edinburgh Fringe Fest. This Mingus album is just mad sensual.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Hipster Audiences” This is a very dumb joke I wrote that's less than a minute and has made me a lot of money on Sirius/XM because it is so clean. So I love this track because it has become beautiful passive income
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2016, I was selected to tape a Comedy Central special while living in Ohio as a self rep'd DIY artist. I flew my mom, dad, sister and her 3 kids down for the taping. We ate beignets by the mighty Mississippi.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Live in the UK for a spell and do comedy enough that I get to present on Great British Bake-Off or Great Pottery Throw-Down or one of them challenge shows.
