About Paul Nicholas
Artist Biography
Despite a silken-smooth voice, considerable piano chops, a 1960s career as a rocker, and many major stage credits, Paul Nicholas is perhaps best remembered for his brief stint as a disco artist. In the mid-to-late-1970s, he scored a series of hits in his U.K. home, but just one stateside, the confectionary disco number "Heaven on the 7th Floor," a top ten pop hit in 1976. In the 1960s, he served as pianist for the notorious Screaming Lord Sutch as well as proving a keen ear as a solo artist, including covers of Pete Townsend and David Bowie. He made his West End acting debut as part of HAIR in 1968, and would continue to strut before an audience into the 2000s.
