About Trina
Artist Biography
Miami rapper Trina is one of the most consistent and sex-positive female performers in hip-hop. She’s set the standard for boldness throughout her lengthy career.
• She was a beautician studying for a real estate licence when she appeared on fellow Florida native Trick Daddy’s 1998 track “Nann N***a”. The single reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart and led to Trina signing with Slip-n-Slide Records.
• The rapper’s 2000 debut album, Da Baddest Bitch, stayed on the Billboard 200 for 29 weeks, peaking at inside the Top 40.
• Trina enjoyed greater creative control on her 2002 sophomore effort, Diamond Princess, which features artists like Missy Elliott, Rick Ross and Ludacris. The LP went Top 20 on the Billboard 200 and Top 5 on the R&B albums chart.
• Her third album, Glamorest Life, yielded the popular single “Here We Go”, featuring Kelly Rowland. It was Trina’s first and only Top 20 pop hit.
• With her fourth album, 2008’s Still Da Baddest followed, Trina achieved her first No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
• After a nine-year hiatus, Trina returned in 2019 with The One, featuring superstars like Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and DJ Khaled.
