About Navajita Plateá
Artist Biography
Contemporary flamenco duo Navajita Plateá became a top-selling artist after issuing 1998's Desde Mi Azotea. Idelfonso de los Reyes (aka "Pelé") and Francisco Carrasco (aka "Curro") started playing together in 1993, debuting a year later with the release of their first album. Soon, these gypsy musicians from Jerez de la Frontera were making contributions to the movie soundtrack of Imanol Uribe's Dias Contados.
After successfully touring around Spain, Navajita Plateá signed up with EMI/Chrysalis to release Contratiempos, produced by Sergio Castillo. 2001's Hablando en Plata was recorded in Madrid, Tarifa, London, and mixed in Los Angeles, CA. ~ Drago Bonacich
