About Miss Willie Brown
Artist Biography
Miss Willie Brown is actually the country singing and songwriting duo of Amanda Watkins and Kasey Buckley. The pair met in Los Angeles when Watkins, an aspiring songwriter from West Virginia, showed up for her first shift at Baby Blue's BBQ where Buckley, a struggling actress from Texas, was the head waitress. The two quickly discovered a musical affinity and began writing songs together. Dubbing themselves Miss Willie Brown, they self-released an EP, Blackouts and Polaroids, in 2010. They became the first group signed to the New York-based label A&M/Octone Records in 2011. The label released the pair's debut full-length album, the Keith Stegall-produced Bonafide, a year later in 2012. ~ Steve Leggett
