About London
Artist Biography
The ever-morphing line-up of metal band London shuffled through a veritable who’s-who of the 1980s Los Angeles hard rock/metal scene during its varied stages of existence. Formed originally in 1978 by ex-Sister (and soon-to-be W.A.S.P.) headman Blackie Lawless, London boasted a blistering guitar attack and the scorching, primal-screamed, but still melodic vocals which would become the base of the movement would launch dozens of million-selling bands by the late-‘80s. The outfit’s first incarnation included Nikki Sixx, who would later help found Motley Crue, while its 1984 revival (sans Lawless) contained Slash and Izzy Stradlin, eventually half of Guns N’ Roses. The group dissolved by the ‘90s, but the name resurfaced in 2008 with a new track and a thorough retrospective.
