Bollywood vocalist Jubin Nautiyal studied classical music and learned multiple instruments in high school, becoming a well-known singer in his hometown of Dehradun, India.
∙ In 2011, he competed on X Factor India for a panel of judges that included star playback singer Shreya Ghoshal, with whom he recorded the 2015 movie song “Samander.”
∙ He made his debut as a playback singer with the dreamy, trip-hop-flavored “Ek Mulaqat,” from 2014’s Hindi-language comedy-drama Sonali Cable.
∙ Nautiyal got his big break in 2015, when he sang the ballad “Zindagi Kuch Toh Bata (Reprise)” for the hit film Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
∙ The Mirchi Music Awards, honoring the best of Hindi-language film music, named him Upcoming Male Vocalist of the Year in 2016.
∙ The 2020 video for his romantic Hindi song “Meri Aashiqui,” featuring Bollywood actress Ihana Dhillon, has garnered almost 220 million views.
∙ He released his first song in English, 2020’s “Breaking the Rules,” for the American crime-thriller Initiation, alongside the Hindi version, “Aatishbaazi.”
