About Jeb Loy Nichols
Artist Biography
Singer, songwriter, and visual artist Jeb Loy Nichols, once a member of the Fellow Travellers, issued Lovers Knot, his solo debut, on Capitol in 1997. A richly textured album, it featured Nichols' nasally drawl over soul, blues, and reggae influences. He resurfaced in 2001 with Just What Time It Is, a critical success. His fourth offering, Now Then, boasted some of his most carefully crafted material, a feat he dutifully replicated with 2007's Days Are Mighty and 2009's Strange Faith and Practice. A dubwise set with Adrian Sherwood entitled Long Time Traveller was issued in Japan in 2010 and in the U.S. in 2016. The star-studded Country Hustle followed in 2017. Backed by local Welsh musicians, Nichols released June Is Short, July Is Long in 2019, and collaborated with Cold Diamond & Mink on 2021's gritty R&B outing Jeb Loy.
