In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
My earliest musical memory was singing my first solo, at church, in 1994. I was 5 years old. The song was "Reason Why I Sing" by Kirk Franklin & The Family. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Erykah Badu, Mama's Gun
India.Arie, Acoustic Soul
Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly
These are 3 of my all-time favorite albums because of their nostalgia, writing, production, & cohesiveness. These are "start-to-finish" albums; no skips. All 3 albums give a different feel and have inspired me in different phases of my life/artistry. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
One of the most memorable moments in my career is the first time I headlined at City Winery in Chicago. I'll never forget the feeling of walking on stage to the roar & applause of a sold-out audience. At that moment, I truly felt like an "artist". Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
A few things that are left on my bucket list as an artist is to go on an international tour as a solo act and also to play with a Big Band/Jazz orchestra.
