Eric Barry is an American tenor from Texas who has been nicknamed the "Pavarotti of the Panhandle." He has performed as Tom Rakewell in Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress, Anthony in Sondheim's Sweeney Todd, Don Ottavio in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Edgardo in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, and Alfredo in Verdi's La Traviata, among other prominent roles. He has also sung in concert with the Madison Symphony Orchestra, the Winston Salem Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and the Munich Symphony Orchestra, often performing the tenor solos in Handel's Messiah and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. Barry has also formed a close connection with the Beethoven Easter Festival and the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw, Poland, where he has sung the roles of Avito in Montemezzi's L'amore dei tre re, Don Luigi in Donizetti's Maria Padilla, Gabriele Adorno in Verdi's Simon Boccanegra, and Peter Quint in Britten's The Turn of the Screw.
