About Domo Wilson
Artist Biography
Singer/songwriter and rapper Domo Wilson built a following for herself on social media, where her streaming channel touched on topics ranging from mundane day-to-day activities to introspective pieces tackling LGBT-related issues. Born Dominique Wilson in Chicago, she was raised in Indiana. While still a teenager, she started a streaming channel where she uploaded early songs "For You," "Come Through," "It's Cool," and "Real." She came out in 2014 and, the year after, allowed fans even deeper access to her personal life when she chronicled her first pregnancy, subsequent miscarriage, and second pregnancy. In 2016, she and YouTube co-host Crissy Danielle got engaged, extending their online partnership into a real-life union. In 2018, Wilson put her passionate lyrics to song with the hip-hop effort Hear Me Now, which further explored topics like mental health and depression ("Hear Me Now"), motherhood ("To Domonic"), and sexual identity ("Becoming Myself"). ~ Neil Z.
