Bex Burch is a composer, percussionist, producer, and instrument maker from England. She founded Vula Viel and co-founded Boing! with Leafcutter John. She is also a member of the Flock improv collective alongside saxophonist Tamar Osborn, drummer/percussionist Sarathy Korwar, and others. In the creation of her polyrhythmic, almost otherworldly music, Burch employs percussion instruments and handmade xylophones. Her desire to embrace new musical challenges has led her to study in Africa and to perform and collaborate with artists including Dame Evelyn Glennie, Emanative, and Tony Buck. Between 2015 and 2019 she issued three acclaimed albums with Vula Viel, Boing! with Leafcutter John, and 2022's Flock with Dan Leavers, Korwar, Osborn, and Maisha's Al MacSween. In 2023, she issued her International Anthem solo debut album, There Is Only Love and Fear.
