About Bernadette Peters
Artist Biography
Equipped with a persona that's equal parts sizzling and sweet, Bernadette Peters has maintained a long and distinguished career in music, and is arguably the most renowned female Broadway star of the late 20th/early 21st century. The singer-actress is most often associated with Steven Sondheim, having worked closely with the lyricist/composer throughout her entire career (most notably in the Tony Award winning musical INTO THE WOODS). She also turned in two highly memorable performances alongside Steve Martin in the classic screen comedies THE JERK and PENNIES FROM HEAVEN. Peters's recorded output includes several albums' worth of cabaret-style interpretations of a variety of songs from across the pop spectrum.
