About Anti-Nowhere League
Artist Biography
Formed in the small southern England city of Tunbridge Wells in 1980, the Anti-Nowhere League courted controversy from the very beginning, managing to get arrested after its very first public performance and having copies of its 1982 debut album, WE ARE THE LEAGUE, seized by the Obscene Publications Squad. One of the longest-lived and most prolific of the second-wave British punk bands, the Anti-Nowhere League disbanded in 1987, but lead singer Nick "Animal" Culmer re-formed the group in 1993 when longtime fans Metallica offered them an opening slot at Wembley Arena.
