Bronx behemoth Kool Keith returns to one of his most prominent alter egos on a remix record that gives tracks from his 2009 album Tashan Dorrsett a fresh coat of paint. Producer DJ Junkaz Lou serves up alternative versions of songs he originally produced, with “Magnetic Junkadelic” building on the original’s knuckle-duster beat and adding some warbling analogue sounds. Elsewhere, hip-hop stalwart Marley Marl reimagines “Supa Supreme” as a minimalist jam with tough-as-nails drums and subtle guitar strums.
