Produced by Bad Religion guitarist (and Epitaph label owner) Brett Gurewitz, and backed by members of Social Distortion, Millport expands the lonesome ballads of Graffin’s 2006 album, Cold as the Clay, toward a sturdy, full-band sound. The result ranges from Eagles-style breeziness (“Too Many Virtues”) to straight-up bluegrass (“Echo on the Hill”), all carried by Graffin’s inimitably grainy voice.
