Goa-born musician Jose Neil Gomes reportedly plays over 20 instruments. He seemed to perform in as many bands—including Stitch in Nine and Hipnotribe—before staking out a solo career with several well-received EPs. He’s taken a leap into the sonic unknown for his full-length electronic debut, blending cut-up and found sound samples into layered, genre-defying productions. Google Maps for Lovers is an abstract yet intimate portrait of Gomes’ adoptive home of Mumbai, and his epic synth solo on "Speed Breakers” and the cheekily titled "Left From HDFC” are among the many highlights.
